METHODOLOGY ADAPTED TO NEEDS
ESADE Business School’s Executive Education programmes are an open forum of ideas and knowledge in which each participant is an active protagonist in the learning process. Our methodology poses a constant challenge to preconceived ideas and traditional educational processes.
Our research in this area, as well as the experience we have accumulated over the years, has shown us that there is no single methodology. In each case, the appropriate methodology depends on the objectives of each programme, the skills it seeks to exercise, and the attitudes and behaviour that it aims to promote.
DYNAMIC LEARNING
Amongst other methods, classroom-based training is delivered through participatory classes, group work, presentations and virtual simulations. As a result, participants can present and discuss the company’s key management concepts and design its development strategy.
Simulation games. Through simulation games, students will participate in managerial integration exercises.
Business plan. In this programme, we seek to strike a balance between reflection and training, with a focus on the fundamental aspects of general management. We do this by emphasising the practical application the concepts covered and getting each student to include all of these aspects in a business plan. This exercise is complemented by individual tutoring sessions with faculty members.
Non-classroom learning is delivered through outdoor training activities, which offer personal and group learning and development beyond the conventional boundaries of the classroom. These activities often present real challenges to be resolved through physical, manual and organisation skills, in addition to foresight, leadership and teamwork. In outdoor training activities, faculty take on the role of facilitators and expert observers of the participants’ behaviour .
