The aim of the programme is to develop participant’s knowledge and skills in order to produce a substantial improvement in the process of achieving their professional challenges.
The Program for Management Development® will enable you:
- To understand the main points of the organisational environment, and the effects of changing external factors on the company.
- To obtain a strategic overview of general management.
- To identify all the key functions and how they interrelate.
- To develop management skills individually for efficient team management: exercising leadership and winning decision-making skills.
- To acquire skills and tools for effective change management and the successful implementation of decisions taken.
- To access a professional network and forum for debate and reflection on management concepts, both during the programme and after the implementation of the concepts, through a community of over 42,000 alumni.
ESADE's PMD® is designed for high-potential professionals who carry out executive functions in any of various functional areas within an organisation, executives who occupy management positions in small and medium-sized companies, and entrepreneurs or business owners with the potential for growth.
kj
Students come from a wide variety of sectors and types of company and usually have at least eight years professional experience. This creates a plural and cooperative learning environment.
Management skills
The programme provides students with in-depth practical knowledge about business management criteria and work methods.
This results in substantive improvement in analytical and decision-making skills, greater process-management efficiency, and the alignment of activities and resources with the strategic needs of the organisation.
Executive skills
The programme is an ideal space for students to analyse and reflect on their executive skills and leadership abilities.
Our specific methodology - which involves workshops, role-playing activities, teamwork, etc. - helps students to define their own strategy for personal and skill-related development.
Personnel management and training
The key function of any executive is the ability to make an organisation grow by helping collaborators and members of work teams to grow personally.
This is one of the main educational goals of the PMD®. The programme's various methods address key skills and issues related to personnel management. This particular area is emphasised in some of the programme's most important modules.
Networking
The programme allows students to expand their professional networks by sharing and comparing their experiences with the other students, with business leaders and with the faculty.
LEAD Programme
One key component of this course is the LEAD Programme, developed by Daniel Goleman and Richard Boyatzis and exclusively adapted for Europe by ESADE.
LEAD consists of a series of practical sessions and personal exercises carried out via an online platform, combined with individual coaching sessions. Based on their ideal leadership profile, students develop a personal development strategy that goes beyond the end of the course. This strategy has a direct impact on students development as executives.
Managing Director Forum
The programme features lectures on current-affairs topics by important business leaders. Following the talks, in which they draw on their own extensive experience, the speakers engage in a debate with the students.
These sessions allow students to share their concerns as executives with major figures in the community.
Strategic simulator
The simulator provides interactive experience with business management, especially in the areas of strategic management and business policy.
Students will "manage" a series of companies for the equivalent of three years and make decisions in all major functional areas.
The simulation gives students the chance to recognise their own skills and enjoy a dynamic experience that combines day-to-day reality with the integrated vision of strategic management.
